Centre for Objective Research and
Development (CORD) in its continous efforts
for achieving its objectives has earmarked a
road map where thrust is on improving the
existing infrastructure of primary and
secondary education in Muslim dominated
areas. As per the road map it is envisaged
to improve the existing schools. In its
survey conducted on the schools till class
12th run by Muslim Management (Mumtaz Inter
College, Sunni Inter College, Islamia Inter
College etc.)
it was found the academic excellence in the
staff and the management was lacking and
there was also in certain cases there was
strife between the academic staff and the
management and thus the school was the
sufferer. In spite having building and
infrastructure worth crores of rupees this
entire infrastructure is going waste and
unutilised. Knowing very well the paucity of
fund for modern education in the Muslim
community CORD took the initiative to
redress this problem. A understanding has
been done with Mumtaz Inter College
management a century old institution in the
heart of the city to make efforts for
developing academic standards.
As per the programme a talent hunt was done
amongst the students of class 10th on 29.
12. 2008 at F. I. Hospital auditorium where
six students three boys and three girls
namely Mohd. Sarfarz, Mohd. Fareed, Ahmad
Raza, Shama Parveen, Zeba Khatoon, Aasifa
Khatoon where selected and special guidance
was given to them before their final exams.
Since all these students where of Mumtaz
orphanage in the Mumtaz Inter College campus
the guidance programme was conducted on them
in the orphanage premises by CORD and it
gave the desired results, all the six
students passed out with exceptional marks.
Further, this talent hunt will be done on
the regular basis every year from class 6th
onwards and parent's teachers meeting will
be done every month under the supervision of
CORD for every class in the premises of the
school, by 2011 we hope to have similar
programmes conducted in other schools
situated in predominantly Muslim areas.
